Kew Baptist Church

LOCAL AND GLOBAL WORK

Kew Baptist Church is involved with a wide range of organisations in the Kew and Melbourne areas. The Mission, Aid and Development group has a key role in strengthening the church’s understanding of and participation in local and global work.

Some examples are:

  • Donating goods and funds to Camcare Kew for distribution to needy people in the Kew area.
  • A regular Barbeque at Carrical House, a boarding house in Hawthorn.
  • Group participation in the Relay for Life to aid research and development of cancer treatment.
  • Involvement of some members in Good Grub, through which people are provided with a meal each week.

Kew Baptist Church is committed to global involvement as well as local. We provide support for various organisations which work to share the faith and to empower people around the world to address needs such as poverty, hunger and the like.

More than 10% of the amount received in church offerings is designated to local and global concerns, and the aim is to increase our participation. In addition, groups within the church participate in fundraising activities for a variety of causes and many members of the congregation give directly for such work.

  • Donations are made to support people who are from Kew Baptist Church or associated with us in some way who are serving overseas.
  • We also support Baptist organisations – Global Interaction (the mission arm of Australian Baptists), Baptist World Aid Australia, Baptist World Alliance.
  • Fundraising events are held to assist in local and global ministries and missions.
